Meet our Team
Lounette Els (Graaff)
Lounette Graaff holds a Masters degree in Social and Psychological Research from the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) and is the founder of Mindful Connections Research. Lounette started offering research services to students and professionals since 2018 due to the lack of needed support often received in academic research. She found that there was a big gap between undergraduate teachings and the requirement to conduct an entire research study from postgraduate level. Here she found that there is a lack of understanding and clarity around the research process and its concepts for many students.

Lounette's research interests include gender and sexuality, and sexual and reproductive health studies. She also supervises students in their research at Honours level and is an associate member of the Professional Editors' Guild (PEG).
Richard van Rensburg
Richard van Rensburg holds a Master of Arts in Social and Psychological Research from the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits). He has been tutoring university students since 2017 where he found a passion for co-creating knowledge with students while simultaneously developing their critical thinking skills through the writing process. The academic space has allowed Richard to unite his passion for both research and writing, where he feels most at home, enabling him to assist students of various levels with both the technical aspects of their written work as well as the nuts and bolts behind the daunting terrain of research.
His research interests include narrative constructs of self-hood, gender and sexuality, youth, transformation of educational spaces and qualitative research methodology. Richard is also a language editor and proofreader having completed a copy-writing and proofreading course through the SA Writers College and he is an associate member of the Professional Editors’ Guild (PEG). He is also a qualified indexer and is a member of the Association of Southern African Indexers and Bibliographers (ASAIB).
